Congratulations to Lackawanna College for being recognized by Fast Company as a 2021 Most Innovative Company for its Level Up Program!Women in Philanthropy has supported the Level Up Program at Lackawanna College since its inception through the STEAM Stars scholarship program. The STEAM Stars Scholarship program is supported through our STEAM Education initiative which works to help bridge the educational gap by providing funding for STEAM education locally.

Congratulations, Lackawanna College, on this prestigious recognition!

And thank you to Women in Philanthropy supporters for your generous support of this visionary program for our region!

Funded through Women in Philanthropy, a STEAM Stars Scholarship covers the students’ entire time in the program at the total cost of $6,200 per student. To date, WIP has provided five total STEAM Stars scholarships to students at Riverside Jr./Sr. High School and Scranton High School. Two students, Aaliyah Jalil and Priyal Patel, now Scranton High School graduates, graduated from the Level Up Program in August 2020, earning an associate degree alongside their high school diploma. Three other STEAM Stars scholarship recipients are completing their last senior year of high school this year.
