Women in Philanthropy and the Scranton Area Community Foundation invite you to nominate an individual for the 2022 Roseann Smith Alperin Award.
The Roseann Smith Alperin Award was established by the Junior League of Scranton to recognize an outstanding female volunteer who exhibits the heart and spirit of Roseann Smith Alperin by demonstrating the capacity to lead, motivate, and inspire others and the community she serves. The Roseann Smith Alperin Award honors an area woman who has the capacity to encourage others to make more of themselves and the community they serve.
Through this award, the award recipient has the opportunity to donate $500 to a nonprofit organization of their choice. The nonprofit organization who nominates the winning recipient also receives a $500 prize!
The selection committee is looking for nominees who are active volunteers and who foster excellence in volunteer service. The selection will be made based on the nominee being an outstanding woman who:

The Margaretta Belin Chamberlin Award has been presented since 1992 when a fund was established by the family of Margaretta Belin Chamberlin both to honor her memory and to recognize accomplishments of women in our community while encouraging their personal and/or professional development.
This award is presented annually to a woman whose vision, dedication and courage has enhanced the quality of life and expanded the opportunities for the people within her community; and whose creative interests, energies and service to others have contributed substantially to the betterment of her community.
The recipient of this award will receive a monetary award of $1,000 for the purpose of enhancing her role as a community leader interested in improving the quality of life in Lackawanna County.
The Margaretta Belin Chamberlin Award is presented annually to a woman who demonstrates the following qualities:

The recipients of the Roseann Smith Alperin Award and the Margaretta Belin Chamberlin Award will be presented at the Women in Philanthropy Annual Celebration on Thursday, October 13th at the Hilton Scranton from 6:00-8:00 PM. More information about this hybrid event to follow.
Women in Philanthropy’s Garden Party will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Country Club of Scranton.
