WE NEED YOU TO HELP SHAPE OUR NEXT SET OF PRIORITIES!
Join us to help shape Women in Philanthropy’s next set of priorities that help advance women, girls, and their families in NEPA.

Because of your generous support, Women in Philanthropy continues to grow and we are now ready to explore new areas of impact in 2021 that support the changing needs of women, girls, and their families across our region (in addition to many of the initiatives that we already support)!

Join Us // Spring Webinar Series

Beginning Thursday, March 11, 2021, we invite you to join us for a series of webinars exploring regional issues or concerns affecting women and girls in Northeastern Pennsylvania today. These webinars will include panel discussions engaging both local leaders and national representatives. We need your participation and input in group discussions on how Women in Philanthropy can continue to break down barriers that exist for women and girls in NEPA.

Our first webinar in the series will take a local look at the state of civic engagement and advocacy for women in our community. Below is the webinar series we have planned. Please register for each webinar individually.

The first sessions will lay the groundwork for future discussions. The follow-up webinars will include examples of solution-focused models to consider as we address the concerns that were raised in the first sessions, followed by small group discussions. Through these discussions, we hope to brainstorm and begin formulating plans for how we can affect change in these critical areas.

We are looking forward to your engagement in these discussions as we look to enhance the voices of the women and girls across our region. Please consider registering for all of these important webinars to help share our next set of priorities.

Thank you for your continued support of Women in Philanthropy.

ABOUT WOMEN IN PHILANTHROPY
Since its inception in 2014, Women in Philanthropy (WIP) has been an initiative of the Scranton Area Community Foundation that focuses on empowering and transforming the lives of women and girls and their families in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

To date, Women in Philanthropy has provided STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) education to over 2,000 students in K-12 public schools, provided capital in the form of micro-loans to launch 14 local women-owned businesses, facilitated the financial education of over 120 low-to-moderate-income women, provided a $1 for $1 match to low-to-moderate-income women trying to build a savings, convened over 100 presenters on topics related to community health and wellness, formed a Dental Council of health leaders who are working on a pilot project to improve access to restorative dental care for women, and are actively working on advancing access to health services through transportation.

WIP aspires to engage active supporters in collective decision-making to fund programs that foster transformative measures and move women from places of disempowerment and poverty to levels of personal empowerment and economic self-sufficiency. To date, there are over 100 active supporters. To learn more about Women in Philanthropy initiative of the Scranton Area Community Foundation, please visit supportnepawomen.org
