Women in Philanthropy (WIP), the initiative of the Scranton Area Community Foundation that empowers and transforms the lives of women and girls, is now accepting grant applications from 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and educational institutions in the following grant categories:
Fostering entrepreneurship for women and girls
Helping women build wealth and advance themselves economically
Inspiring girls to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) Education
Providing restorative dental care to women
Developing transportation solutions that help women and their families more easily navigate their responsibilities
WIP will be looking to provide a total of $30,000 in grants to programs that are focused on transforming the lives of women and girls in these specific areas. Qualified organizations that have viable, innovative programs will be asked to present their projects at the next WIP Meeting and Reception on Thursday, April 11, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tripp House (1011 N Main Ave, Scranton). The top three applicants will be selected to receive a $10,000 grant in 2019.
